Pinterest

<<Pin This Crochet Flower Pot Cozy For Later!

Calling all gardening crocheters! This crochet flower pot cozy is the free pattern for you! It is the first and only free pattern in the Swear Pot Cozy series!

Maybe your thumb is only a bit greenish…maybe it’s full on black. This crochet flower pot cozy wills those plants to live. Just look how happy my Grandma’s cactus is! 😀

But seriously, if you’re like me…keeping plants alive is at least somewhat challenging…Look we’ve got a lot of things to keep up and those plants just don’t have a habit of yelling “MOM I’M THIRSTY!”

How are we supposed to know if they don’t tell us?…

These pieces are designed to be used on multiple pot sizes and shapes because there are just so damn many kinds out there! So I decided to use ties in order to allow some flexibility!

(CK) Clones Knot – 20Loop

I racked my brain trying to come up with a way to demonstrate this stitch in text and photos and just could not figure it out and convey it in any way that felt like it made sense and wouldn’t leave you confused. SO, I made a video. If you need to learn how to do a clones knot, you can find that tutorial here: https://youtu.be/kj7mxZiZ_WM

Pattern Notes

NOTES:

Graph section worked in single crochet.

Beginning ch 51, start Row 1 in second ch from hook.

Ch 1 does not count as first stitch in each row.

It is my personal preference that each RS row is worked in the back loop only of the previous stitch and each WS row is worked in the front loop only of the previous stitch, however you can work in the stitches normally if you like. The plus side of working in BLO/FLO is that the stitches tend to line up A LOT better.

Change Colors Fair Isle Method>

You’ll see this called Intarsia in the video, but I have since learned that, after all this time of doing this thing, this method is actually called Fair Isle.

Intarsia is specifically where you would use a separate bobbin for each and every section where the color changes (using the video’s example, the H, I, ! and Background would all have a separate bobbin in Intarsia. Where Fair Isle, the colors are carried across the wrong side of the work.
